“Hello Mr. President? Yes, it’s me, Blasted Fools. Just great, family’s doing fine, thank you. Well, we could use a break on gas prices. Yes, yes – I know. Listen, I’m sorry to bring bad tidings regarding your re-election hopes, but the youth vote is moving away. Yes, that’s what I said.
That’s correct, Mr. President – I saw the moving van being loaded up, not unloaded. Yes, I tried talking to them but it didn’t do any good. What was the problem? Well, my ‘exit poll’ revealed that they are just ‘not that into you’ anymore. It probably doesn’t help that they are moving their stuff back home to their parents’ place.
Oh, I see – uh,huh. No problem, you’re just going to have Jim Messina get more going on social networks – send out more tweets about lowering the cost of student loans and creating more jobs? Good luck with that Mr. President. I’m sorry, what – oh, you have to cut it short, you have a golf appointment. O.K., remember, keep it long and straight. All right, bye, bye.”
If that had been an actual conversation, I probably would have recommended that he get those million under 30 illegals he just saved from the threat of deportation, registered to vote any way he could as soon as possible.
In the 2008 Presidential election, Obama blew the doors off of McCain with the ‘yoot’ vote. He cruised to an easy win with a 34 percent margin, 66% to 32%. That’s kind of like lining up a Chevy Camaro against a Toyota Camry.
Things have changed since. In a recent poll conducted by Georgetown University, less than half of the 18 to 24 group of likely voters favor the big ‘O’. One of the interesting factoids that surfaced in the wake of the Scott Walker recall victory in Wisconsin (besides 34 percent of Union members supporting him), was that Walker won the under 25 vote against his Democrat challenger. If Wisconsin, as even Democrats conceded, is a harbinger of fortunes for their party nationally, that is a Red flag for Obama’s campaign.
It’s true that Obama is trying to go to the desperation card with Student loans as a gambit to get ‘mo’ back on his side. The problem is that he just offset what little traction he might have been getting, by turning an estimated 800,000 to 1 million young illegals loose for jobs that should be available for American youth. The unemployment rate among American youth is estimated at 54%. This is staggering in its implications.
One of the attractive qualities that Obama had going for him in 2008 was the ‘symbolic vote’, the idealism factor. The first Black president who is the youngest candidate since Kennedy and he is you know, ‘off the hook’. Now when Obama tries to get a young likely voter on the phone, the phone is ‘off the hook’. Obama had the ‘cool’ quotient back then. Not so much now. After all, the un-coolness of moving back in with mom and dad, sinks Obama’s ‘coolness’ like the Titanic.
Another thing that can’t be helping him much with the ‘yoot’, is the fact that they hear constant reminders of how much of that $4 Trillion of debt, they are going to be carrying around like a monkey on their shoulder for the rest of their lives. Obama’s approval among young White voters is sinking like a stone – but there are other ethnic and racial categories that are keeping the Obama campaign up at night.
Generation Opportunity has commissioned polls recently that not only find Obama’s favorability sinking among the general population of the young, but specifically among Latino youth as well. Even despite the Dream Act executive order. Consider the implications of these poll results:
- By nearly a 3:1 ratio, Hispanic young adults prefer “reducing federal spending” (69%) to “raising taxes on individuals” (27%) in order to balance the federal budget.
- 70% of Hispanic young adults would decrease federal spending if given the chance to set America’s fiscal priorities.
- A 57%-majority of Hispanics agree that “if taxes on business profits were reduced, companies would be more likely to hire.”
- In a separate question, a 56%-majority concurred “the economy grows best when individuals are allowed to create businesses without government interference.”
- 61% indicated their agreement with “American Exceptionalism” – described as an ideal of freedom and democracy exclusive and unique to the United States.
Hey, all is not lost…..
There’s still the ‘dead’ vote.

I’m sorry, I wont vote for a Murderer. A man that has a personal Hit List or Kill List is not for me, Nor ANY of my Friends and I have many.
Then the OK’ing of Killing U.S. Citizen’s and 2 weeks later Killing his 16 year old Son too. While renaming [Collateral Damage] to a generic term called Militant’s. The Entire Middle East can’t be Militant’s! Nor are Emergency Aid workers or Funeral’s either. Obama is a COLD BLOODED MURDERER! and should be tried as a War Criminal for Bombing into countries we aren’t even at war with… YET!
Then add all his Executive Orders bypassing a Congress of 400+ members that were Elected to Represent US. The “WE THE PEOPLE” of these United States. FAIL! is his entire administration as he plunges this country into War after War causing Our Great Military to now commit Suicides to just get OUT! FAIL

Attention all hipsters. You already made history:been there, done that. The good news is that now it is much easier for you to get food stamps and with a little (ok a lot) of luck the supreme court may soon keep you on your parents health insurance until you’re 26. And yes, Dennis is da man.

“The unemployment rate among American youth is estimated at 54%. This is staggering in its implications.” ESTIMATED…probably higher!!
Think THAT will have some effect on their decision this time? Just a bit…

I think it’ll take ’em less time to sort that out than it took the jury in the Sandusky case to bring back 45 guilty as charged verdicts.

Jim,
thank you for your kind comments. The next job is school reform – which means flattening the tires on the Teacher’s Union bus. Only then can we bring Constitutional studies back in to the classroom and prepare these kids to see through the lies of the bearded Marxists in the secondary educational system.
Dennis Prager isn’t a flashy, high profile ‘Fox News’ type personality, but even just a few minutes with his writings will give anyone a mega ‘I.Q. booster shot’. Dennis is the MAN!

Great piece…keep it up.
You put together some good facts….good perspective of the youth vote, particularly of Latinos.
The democrats/leftists BRAG how they own the Latino vote….they think the Latinos are their ticket to perpetual dominance of the American political landscape.
I think the democrats/leftists have already crested in their power and are now in the process of disintegrating as a party. The “new cool” will be for people to come together under the BIG TENT of the republican party, to restore America to traditional values under which the USA BECAME THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH. That worked for ALL ethnic groups…….everyone who came here wanted to be “Americans”….and everyone did that by absorbing and living the traditional American values that built this nation. Opportunity…not governement handouts and protesting in the streets for someone eles to give you free stuff.
Socialism is dead….it killed itself.
It has failed…miserably….every place it has been tried. eftism is a plague upon human society.
For a great book recently written by Dennis Prager, read “Still the Best Hope: Why the World Needs American Values to Triumph”.
